March Beauty Haul

So, I may have been a bit naughty recently and purchased quite a few beauty items.  There have been some very good deals recently making it very tempting to try out some new products, so here is what I have purchased over the last few weeks :)

Escentual

This month, Escentual had up to a third off their French products, meaning - some very tempting deals.  As soon as I saw Nuxe Reve de Miel was just £6.33, I knew I had to try it.  I was also looking for a new eye make-up remover, so I went for the Vichy Purete Thermale Sensitive eye make-up remover.  Lastly, I purchased the highly raved about Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Primer.  After trying it for the first time a few days ago, it is safe to say I think I am going to love this product.

Boots

As you may know, Boots currently have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment (which is amazing I must say!).  So I couldn't help myself and had to pop in there to pick up a few things.

Firstly, to the hair section, I knew I wanted to try out the Platinum Hair range by Tresemme, so I purchased both the shampoo and conditioner.  The Batiste dry shampoo is a repeat purchase, I have yet to find a better dry shampoo! Also, whilst in Brussels recently, I tried some Olive Oil shampoo in the hotel room and was amazed by the results, so I went on the hunt for some olive oil products and came across this conditioning hair mask.  I also got the Aussie 3 minute hair masks as these have always been a favourite.

Lastly, I bought some Barry M nail polishes before the 3 for 2 offer went live.  I can't wait to try these 2 together as it looks as if they may be a perfect match. I also replaced my trusty collection 2000 concealer and decided to try the Rimmel Stay Matte powder after hearing many good things about it (not pictured).

I am planning on reviewing most of these products, let me know if you want me to review any products in particular!

What are your recent beauty purchases? Have you found any gems in boots?

Battle of the Highlighters : Benefits High Beam Vs. Me Me Me Beat The Blues

Benefit - High Beam // £18.50
(In all pictures Beat the Blues is on the left and High Beam is on the right)

In a recent Glossy Box I received Me Me Me Beat the Blues in Pearl Pink. I was instantly intrigued as to how it compares to High Beam as it looked like an exact dupe. As you can see they are both packaged in similar bottles and have that similar pearly pink colour. However, is that where the similarity ends?

Firstly, the amount you get in each product is roughly the same, with High Beam contains 13ml and Beat the Blues contains slightly less at 12ml. High Beam costs £18.50 and Beat the Blues costs just £5.50. For such a large difference in price you would expect to see a large difference in the quality of the product, right?

When first applying the product you can begin to see some differences. High Beam is slightly thicker, whilst Beat the Blues is slightly runny. However, once you blend it in it is very hard to tell the difference. On closer inspection High Beam is more iridescent, but this could be a positive or a negative depending on what exactly you are looking for in a Highlighter.

As for staying power, I tested them both out, one on each cheek and found that High Beam did last slightly longer, but not enough to warrant the high difference in price. I have been a devout user of High Beam for a long time now, but I definitely feel Beat the Blues can give High Beam a run for its money.

Have you tried either of these products? If so what did you think?

Montagne Jeunesse Passion Peel Off face mask Review

Hello ladies, this post is long overdue now but as the famous saying goes - better late then never.  I have used Montagne Jeunesse face masks for years now, I remember when I was younger I was always attracted to the colourful packaging and that also the fact that they were very affordable.  Even now I always seem to have a few stocked up in my cupboards!

When I opened the Passion Peel Off Face Mask, the first thing I noticed was the smell. It contains a blend of pomegranate and passion flower and is infused with delicious raspberry, grape and cranberry and yes it really does smell amazing! Once I had applied it to my face, I left it for around 15 minutes. In that time it began to dry leaving me unable to move my face which proved difficult but was not really an issue!

Once completely dry it was very easy to peel off and my skin felt so very soft. My skin felt incredibly clean and my make-up applied very nicely so overall I was very pleased. A few notes to point out, you will need to apply the mask quite thinly otherwise it will take a while to dry! Also, make sure to avoid your hair line and eyebrows otherwise it can be slightly painful when pealing the mask off.

One of the things that I really do love about Montagne Jeunesse is that all of their products are suitable for vegetarians and they always look to use natural ingredients making them a very animal friendly company. The Passion Peel Off Face Mask is now available at ASDA and other leading retailers, but you can also purchase it online at the Montagne Jeunesse Website where you can get 4 for the price of 3.

Have you used Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks before? If so, which is your favourite?

The End of Google Reader

Firstly, I have a new layout thanks to the lovely Abby @ Baggle Web and Design . What do you think? Isn't it lovely? I for one am very happy :)

Secondly, many of you may be aware that Google Reader is coming to an end on the 1st July.  This may or may not also mean the end of Google Friend Connect (GFC) and your blogger dashboard, but this is not too clear at the moment!  I would therefore really appreciate it if you could also follow me via Bloglovin' or Hellocotton just in case GFC does disappear!  Both are great platforms to follow blogs and are highly recommended :)

Make sure you keep following on GFC just in case we don't lose it <3

Send me your links so I can follow you too :)
